A New Year A New Dance Time

So, I ‘d like to announce that we have our weekly dance time at the SDC from 1 to 3pm in the dance room on the second floor.

Secondly, I’d also like to announce that we have gotten a few new members to our E-Board in the MTU Social Dance Club. Let’s welcome Natha, Josh, and Paul to the fold!

Argentine Tango Workshop on the Horizon!

Hello All!

Come the first week of September, we are looking at putting on a two or three day section of Argentine Tango workshops with our very own Braden Giacobazzi. There will be two sessions a day each day we have the event. We are trying to plan for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, but we may end up only having Thursday and Friday. Keep your eyes peeled for more information.

Dance Studio Opening!

It’s about time. Keweenaw Social Dance has finally found a good home in Calumet’s 5th street. Right now we are working on getting the place looking nice and accommodating to those who are going to use it. We will be having a Dance Social to kind of house warming party the place on the 21st of June from 4 to 10pm.

After the studio warming party, we will be looking for donations to help foster the programs, do the necessary updates to the space, and get some gear into stock for special types of dance.

Dance Lessons Start Again!

Hello All,
It’s been quite a while since I’ve gotten around to updating this page. But we are still alive and kicking. We are now holding lessons on Wednesdays at the Sheldon Grill’s banquet room on the 7th floor of the Magnasun Hotel in Houghton at 6pm to 8pm. Lessons are $5 and those who attend also get the option of a $6 salad bar courtesy of the Sheldon Grill. So, whether you’re interested in Swing, Blues, Slow, Merengue or whatever, we will know how to teach it.

In other news, I am also helping get the MTU Social Dance Club back up on it’s legs, so more announcements on the dance times when I will be teaching for them will also become available along with events and what not.

Summer Dance Classes Available

Hello All!

This summer we will have dance classes available for kids and adults. Beginner Tap Dance and Ballet will be available on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please check current events for more information. Besides all the hub bub, don’t forget that Wednesday Open dance is in the Little Gem Theater at 6pm and Friday Night Socials are the same. We are trying to build a dance community, so make sure to invite your friends for a good time. Remember that membership to open dancing is $10 a month. This small contribution helps us keep up fixing the place and improving the facilities for everyone to enjoy! It’s also cool to donate too, just ask and see how you can help!

Keweenaw Social Dance Open!

Hello All!

Keweenaw Social Dance is open for teaching. We have lessons every Monday Wednesday and Friday at 6pm and Sundays at 3pm.

Things you can learn range from East Coast Swing, Blues, Tango, Cha Cha, Merengue, Slow Dance, Waltz, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and more.

Lessons are $5 for 3 hours, $40 for a 10 punch pass, $70 for a 20 punch pass, or $365 for a year membership.
